The Friends of Orchards are a group of committed parents and staff who work together to raise money for the benefit of the children and put FUN into FUNDRAISING.

They generously give their time to organise a variety of fund raising events throughout the year to enable us to buy extra curricular items, fund projects and subsidize activities.  The Friends meet once every half term to decide on future fundraising events, the meetings are very relaxed and informal and everyone is welcome.  We value your support, even if you can only help at one event and would appreciate any new ideas you may have.  We also thank the local community and local businesses who make valuable contributions.

An annual AGM is usually held in November at the school.  The date to be confirmed.

Help is always needed before and at the time of the events.  Look out for these on our notice boards and in our letters.  Please contact or call in at the school office if you would like to help.

Over the last three years The Friends have raised an amazing total of £14,000

Past events have included:
     * Christmas Fayres
     * Mufti days
     * Pupil Disco Parties
     * Summer Fayres
     * Cake Sales
     * Family Discos
     * Car Washes
     * Race Nights
     * Supporting school events with refreshments
     * And many more!

Money raised so far has gone to providing:
     * A projector with cinema surround sound for the school hall
     * 32 African drums for the music department enabling every child a drum during music lessons
     * A Jungle Gym on the playground which every child has the opportunity to use during their
       breaktimes
     * Garden tables with benches and parasols for the quiet area outside
     * 6 Digital cameras

Equipment in the process of being ordered are:
     * Volleyball and badminton equipment
     * A score board for Cricket
     * Equipment for the cookery room
     * 10 Sewing machines
